Description
This bottle of Paillard’s NV Extra Brut Première Cuvée was disgorged in May 2018, and it’s showing well, unfurling in the glass with aromas of lemon oil, ripe apple, brioche and dried white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with an elegant but broad-shouldered profile, displaying good concentration at the core, a fine mousse and brisk balancing acids, concluding with an elegantly chalky finish. Based on the 2014 vintage, this is a classy, incisive wine that will reward bottle age. Drink date: 2018-2033. Score – 92+. (William Kelley, robertparker.com, April 30, 2019)
